November 8-10 we attended the CPAsNET Mid-Year Meeting at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel in downtown Fort Worth, TX. The agenda focused on the “Rosenberg Survey’ and allowed the attendees to compare how their respective firm performs against other firms in the industry. Metrics included: realization rates, staff turnover, billable rates, etc… CPAsNET is a tight-knit group and they share information with one another without reservation – very helpful and collaborative.
On Thursday, November 9 Bryan Eberle from Hayden Rock Solutions presented how attendees can introduce new revenue streams that are predictable, repeatable & scalable. Friday morning, former NY Congressman and Senior VP of AlliantGroup, Rick Lazio, went over all the changes expected in the proposed Tax Reform Bill. As he mentioned, this will be the largest tax reform overhaul since the 1986 Tax Act. The general consensus in the room seemed to be that this bill will pass through Congress and become law.
Fort Worth was a great location for this event as we enjoyed a cocktail reception at Reata Restaurant for some great local cuisine. The 2nd evening we were on our own and we enjoyed dinner with a group that met at the Capital Grille for dinner. Congratulations to Canon scanner winner Jon Harville from Evans, Harville, Atwell & Company, CPAs PLLC.
The next CPAsNET event is June 2018 for the 25th Annual CPAsNET Meeting which will take place in Chicago and we look forward to sponsoring the event.
