Tax software integrations – 1040SCAN
1040SCAN integrates with the most popular tax software for professionals.
1040SCAN PRO and 1040SCANverify organize workpapers and capture data with OCR. They integrate with CCH Axcess Tax, GoSystem Tax RS, Lacerte, and UltraTax CS.
1040SCAN ORGANIZE bookmarks and organizes workpapers, but does not capture data with OCR. Because there is no data to export, ORGANIZE does not require tax software integration.
How 1040SCAN PRO and 1040SCANverify integration works
Each 1040SCAN “unit” constitutes one binder. You can initiate binder creation in TaxCaddy or through the 1040SCAN interface. There is no need to wait until the client has submitted every document. You can always send additional documents to the same binder later.
A dialogue will prompt you to choose a 1040SCAN service level for the binder (i.e., ORGANIZE, PRO, or verify).
All service levels will return a fully bookmarked and organized binder. If you choose 1040SCAN PRO, you’ll also review the data captured. The built-in Review Wizard will guide you through step-by-step data verification. If you choose 1040SCANverify, you’ll receive fully verified data that is ready for export to your tax software.
You can initiate export to your tax software with a single click from SPbinder, or at the end of the Review Wizard process. Every field is mapped line-for-line. After your tax software has completed calculations, import is just as easy. SPbinder Leadsheets will help you detect variances between the binder data and your tax software’s calculations. Exportable data is viewable and editable in the Forms tab of SPbinder. If you make changes, you can export or import any time to update your tax software calculations.
Please note: SPbinder automatically imports data from GoSystem Tax RS, and CCH Axcess to detect variances. If using Lacerte or UltraTax, manual data entry of tax software calculations is required to detect variances.
