While SurePrep is best known for 1040 tax automation, it was first founded in 2002 as a full preparation outsource service provider. We continue to offer year-round outsourcing performed by our full-time professional staff.
Our outsource service is staffed by SurePrep employees in both onshore and offshore facilities. Preparers at both locations must complete a comprehensive 10-week training course before joining the team. They also partake in refresher programs to stay current on policies, procedures, and tax laws.
SurePrep Outsource abides by ironclad security protocols to ensure that your clients’ tax information is safe. Our data centers and cloud services are SOC 2 Type 2 audited and SSAE 16/18 certified. Our servers are managed by SurePrep staff and our workstations are designed to prevent data from leaving our facilities. Because of our experience, reliability, and safety, we’re used by some of the largest CPA firms in the world.

For years, Wolters Kluwer has offered CCH ProSystem fx Outsource for onshore tax return preparation. This service is not performed by their own staff, but outsourced to a third-party vendor called Datamatics.
In September 2020, Wolters Kluwer acquired XCM Solutions. Included in the purchase was their subsidiary service, Xpitax Tax Outsourcing. CCH has integrated Xpitax to expand their outsourcing capabilities.
Now working under Wolters Kluwer, Xpitax employees prepare returns from both onshore and offshore facilities. Datamatics still processes returns for clients that use CCH ProSystem fx Outsource. Firms evaluating CCH’s outsource services should research exactly which subsidiary is handling their client data.
