2018 Firm Management Conference: View of the Beach in Clearwater Beach, Florida

May 24, 2018

This week we attended the 2018 Allinial Global Firm Management Conference in beautiful Clearwater Beach, FL. The conference focused on a few topics: Technologies for Tomorrow, Updated US & Global Economic Forecasts & Firm Roundtables and Surveys. The Technology portion was kickstarted by former White House CIO Theresa Payton and her 2 ½ year task of keeping the White House’s data safe and secure. With her expertise, she discussed current and future data security concerns as it relates to business. On day 2, Alan Beaulieu of ITR Economics discussed some of the recent tax and trade changes under the Trump Administration and how that has affected the current economy and his forecast for the next few years. By his calculations, 2019 should see the economy take a small dip and 2020-2022 the economy should turn upwards. Finally, firms met for management roundtable discussions and to review survey results. The dinner event included live 50s & 60s cover music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
