This week we attended the CPA Associates International Conference in Orlando. Monday’s tax track kicked off with Gale Crosley exploring the cutting-edge approaches of the most successful firms around the world and how they achieve high growth. Gail discussed technology’s role in growth, strategic directions of core services, innovation, and more. In the afternoon session, Mark Soukup of Soukup, Bush & Associates, P.C. presented the tax year in review and current tax strategies including passive loss rules and the new grouping election interpretations.
Tuesday morning, Jacob Stein, Esq. from Aliant, LLP discussed international tax and how to use foreign trusts for tax planning, estate planning and asset protection. Later in the day sponsors presented business development ideas and the day wrapped up with a tax member roundtable moderated by Geoff Harlow. Lots of valuable sessions were packed into two and a half days. This was the first year SurePrep sponsored CPAAI and what a friendly, welcoming and collaborative group!
