CCH Axcess™ Client Collaboration vs. TaxCaddy

TaxCaddy and CCH Axcess™ Client Collaboration are both cloud-based collaboration platforms designed to provide convenience for taxpayers while simplifying gathering and delivery for firms. Both integrate seamlessly with CCH tax software, but only TaxCaddy offers the full spectrum of features and product maturity that firms depend on.

TaxCaddy provides a native iOS/Android mobile app for taxpayers and a companion app for tax professionals. The taxpayer-facing app enables mobile photo-scanning of tax documents, which is a modern feature that taxpayers expect. CCH Axcess™ Client Collaboration can only be accessed via web browser and cannot offer this built-in functionality.

TaxCaddy was released in 2016, four years ahead of CCH Axcess™ Client Collaboration. Since then, we’ve introduced new features like custom branding, state and federal tax payments, RESTful API Integration, and more.

ProSystem fx Scan vs. 1040SCAN

Both ProSystem ƒx Scan and 1040SCAN use Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract data from tax documents and export that data to CCH tax software. That’s where the similarities end. With patented, AI-powered technology, 1040SCAN auto-verifies OCR data for 65% of standard documents. Only SurePrep offers an optional verification outsource service for the remainder. When it’s time to prepare and review workpapers, CCH only offers an Adobe Acrobat plug-in. 1040SCAN integrates with SurePrep’s bespoke tax workpaper software, SPbinder (included at no extra cost).

1040SCAN recognizes five times as many documents as CCH’s ProSystem ƒx Scan, including Grantor Letters, State K-1s, and fields that ProSystem skips, such as Margin Interest and Foreign Income.
